Individual Counseling

Individual counseling works one-on-one with individuals to address any challenges that are coming up and interfering with daily life. An individualized treatment plan is formed in the beginning sessions and therapy is then tailored to the individual's needs and goals. The aim is to provide a confidential, safe space for self-exploration, learning, implementing new tools and strategies, and of course growth!

Individual Counseling - Primary Areas of Focus

Trauma Healing

Trauma is a deeply distressing experience that can have long-lasting psychological, emotional, and physical effects on an individual. It often results from events or situations that are overwhelming, frightening, or harmful, such as abuse, assault, accidents, natural disasters, or significant loss. Trauma can disrupt a person's sense of safety, stability, and well-being, leading to a range of symptoms that can disrupt daily functioning. Effective trauma-informed care and support are crucial for helping individuals heal and recover from traumatic experiences. Below are some of the different types of trauma healing our counselors specialize in working with in individual counseling:

  • PTSD & C-PTSD
  • Intergenerational Trauma
  • Domestic Violence
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Betrayal Trauma
  • Sexual Trauma
  • Incest Trauma
  • FOO Trauma

Self-Development

We provide individual counseling services for individuals who are ready to break free from self-limiting patterns and fully step into their potential for lasting transformation. With a self-development focus, we help you reconnect with yourself, release what no longer serves you, and build a life that feels aligned, grounded, and deeply fulfilling.

Some of the key areas we support include:

  • Cultivating a growth mindset
  • Fostering a healthy relationship with food & body
  • Overcoming people-pleasing
  • Building self-trust & confidence
  • Letting go of perfectionism
  • Challenging limiting beliefs
  • Aligning with your values
  • Navigating transitions
  • Releasing guilt & shame
  • Healing your inner child

We’re here to guide and support you in creating a more balanced mindset—paired with nourishing, sustainable habits that foster true healing and lasting change. Our mission is to help you live more fully, more peacefully, and more authentically—just as you were always meant to.

Grief and Loss

We offer compassionate support for those navigating grief in all its forms, including:

  • Miscarriage and pregnancy loss – Processing the emotional and spiritual impact of losing a child

  • Divorce or separation – Coping with the end of a relationship and rebuilding your identity

  • Loss of a loved one – Navigating the pain of death, including sudden or traumatic loss

  • Suicide – Making sense of complex emotions such as guilt, anger, confusion, or despair

  • Incarceration (self or loved one) – Addressing grief tied to separation, shame, or stigma

  • Refugee or displacement experiences – Grieving the loss of home, community, or safety

  • COVID-related losses – Support for grief due to illness, isolation, or long-term changes

  • Major life transitions – Moving, career changes, retirement, or aging-related grief

Our approach honors the whole person—mind, body, and soul—helping you process your loss, rediscover meaning, and take steps toward healing in a supportive space.

Family Counseling

In our work with minors, we emphasize an active and collaborative approach involving all legal guardians and parents, if possible. This ensures that everyone is aligned, creating the most supportive environment for the minor. We strive to address any questions, educate and provide resources, and facilitate accountability, enhancing the overall effectiveness of care.

Every family has a unique story—and with it, unique challenges. Family therapy offers a supportive space to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and work through conflict together. Whether you're facing a major life change or struggling with ongoing tension, we help families reconnect, heal, and grow as a unit.  Our holistic approach considers the emotional, relational, and spiritual dynamics at play—helping your family find lasting connection and peace.

What Does Healing Look Like in Action?

What others say about us, or the painful and unexpected events that may come our way, do not define who we are, nor do they have to control our lives. There are many things in life beyond our control, but how we choose to respond is within our power. These external forces might shape parts of our journey, yet they don’t have to dictate our identity or our sense of purpose. In working through these challenges in individual counseling, we can begin to reclaim our sense of self and learn how to navigate life with greater resilience, peace and wholeness. Through therapy, we will explore effective strategies to help you heal, such as:

  • Creating a routine and habits that align with your needs
  • Improving emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Improved communication with others
  • Unified parenting approaches
  • Understanding your body's response to stress
  • Breaking free from unhealthy patterns and cycles
  • Cultivating self-worth and self-compassion
  • Ensuring safety in all aspects—mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional
  • Using somatic exercises to enhance body awareness
  • Building/joining a supportive, like-minded community
  • Exploring new hobbies and passions
  • Integrating faith-based practices into your life
  • Learning to set and maintain healthy boundaries

A trauma healing -informed approach is a framework that acknowledges the widespread impact of trauma and anxiety on individuals. It prioritizes creating a safe and supportive environment, understanding the effects of trauma, and integrating this awareness into individual counseling. Key principles we focus on in our individual therapy services include promoting safety, trustworthiness, empowerment, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. The goal is to prevent re-traumatization and help individuals build resilience and regain control after experiencing trauma. Some may not consider their life experience to include trauma. Yet, the way they have learned to cope in life may reflect the impact of trauma, even if they don’t recognize it in themselves.
